Education
Sarah Schulze is a board-certified pediatric nurse practitioner. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in nursing from Indiana State University in 2011 and her Master’s in nursing from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2014. Before becoming an NP, Sarah worked as an RN in various settings, including critical care, post-anesthesia care, and pediatrics.
Experience
She has spent four of her eight years in nursing as a pediatric nurse practitioner in primary care and adolescent mental health. Sarah is particularly interested in working with newborns and their families, breastfeeding mothers, and teens and college-age students. She is a certified lactation counselor and also has a pediatric mental health specialty certificate.
Most of her work experience has been in a rural health clinic, working with lower socioeconomic patients with poor access to healthcare. She has a passion for helping this population navigate healthcare, nutrition, education, healthy lifestyle, and mental health in a way that is attainable and makes sense to her patients regardless of the unique challenges of this population.
